GM guy checking in...
Hey there. Big time GM fan here. Recently fell madly in love with my sworn enemy, the Mustang. LOL!
Here are the cars that my wife and I have owned in over the past 4 years.
2001 Firebird - Auto
2001 WS6 Trans Am - 6-speed
2004 GTO - Cosmos Purple 6-speed
2004 GTO - Impulse Blue 6-speed
2005 Grand Prix GXP
2005 Bonneville GXP
2005 Chevy Avalanche
As you can see, with the exception of my truck, all of our vehicles have been Pontiacs. I even have the Ponitac logo tattooed on my forearm. I am that big of a GM loyalist.
BUT - a buddy of mine recently bought an '03 Cobra (10th anniversay edition). Red with a black convertible top. Matching red and black two-tone interior. Was checking out the car and complimenting him on it. Just being nice, you know? Since it's only a Mustang and all.
Then he tossed me the keys and asked if I wanted to drive it.
Sure?
So we're off. I take it easy down the alley and onto the main drag. He says to get on it. So I downshift and hammer the throttle.
All I can say is HOLY CRAP!!!!
I loved this car. I loved the power, the handling, the ride. It had that nice 'raw' feel to it. It let you know that you were in a good old fashioned muscle car.
Of course I am preaching to the choir here. You guys obviously already understand.
Just wanted to share so that maybe I can explain a little about how a loyal GM fanboy wound up on a Mustang forum because he has found himself in love with the car, not to bash on them.
I will mainly lurk around until I get in a position to buy one. My wife is having a very difficult time coming to grips with the fact that I really want a Mustang. She is still the ever faithful GM loyalist. I am too. I just like Mustangs as well as my beloved fbodies.
Peace!

Welcome to the board, nice story. You my friend have been privy to the terminator. Nickname for the 03 and 04 Cobras. Those are awesome machines. Good luck in your search. My daughter and her mother are die hard GM fans as well. My daughter has a 94 Z, couldnt talk her into the stang. Anyway, glad to have you.
