Default Quick Intro and Question..

Hey guys, whats up? Just joined the forum to see what mustangs are all about. I currently drive an 06 Honda Civic LX Sedan. It's an ok car I guess. Was kind of pushed into it, but whatever. I have been driving it for about a year, and am not fully satisfied with it. So, on to my question. I have been wanting to trade my car in for a new Civic Si. My cousin has an 06 GTO and he always makes fun of my "rice rocket" and says that he would still say the same if I got the Si. He want's me to look more into the muscle car scene not because he doesn't like the Si, but two of our friends already have em. So I did look into the muscle cars...and to make a long story short, I saw a Shelby Mustang GT and fell in love with it. So now I am confused on what to do. Do I want a gas hungry beast? Or do I want a more gas friendly rocket? What are your opinions on both cars?

Welcome to the board. I suggest you buy what you feel comfortable with. What is the intended use of the new car? How much HP do you want to put down? Are you concerned about fuel economy? Any car can be efficient if you drive it for that purpose. What is your budget, can you do your own wrenching?

Welcome to the forums, all mustangs aren't gas guzzlers, like twotone said you can make anything fairly efficient by the way you drive it. Personally I drove a economy car for a few years then a mustang and will never get another 4 door 4 banger that isn't turboed. Also it all really depends on what you're wanting to do with the car if anything or if you just want some power or like the sound, in the end it needs to satisfy your wants/needs.

Yea, I see what you guys mean. Iam mainly going to use it to get to work, and to school. But I go out very often on the weekends. Sometimes it turns into 30-45 min drives. And I do like the power, the sound of american muscle is crazy. But the stickers on the cars said the MPG was 17 for city and 23 or 24 i believe on the Highway. So I guess you could say I am worried about fuel economy. And as for wrenching, I couldn't change the oil if my life depended on it. haha
