2003 3.8 V6
Hi, I'm just about to buy a 2003 3.8 V6 Silver Convertible w/leather, 5 disc CD player etc from a reputable dealer, 11,500 miles, seemingly excellent condition. Any particular use concerns I should be looking for? What about mileage expectation in LA-Santa Barbara traffic/freeway conditions?
First question: how much is a fair price given they're asking $20,800--but dealer trade-in value on Kelley Blue Book is only $13,800.00, private sale estimated $15,800.00. Any input will be welcome
Thanks
Derek

Welcome to the forums !! You might learn more by posting in a Tech. area, or reading recent posts. As far as KBB goes, you had to put in the milage as I recall, so you should be seeing fair numbers. Print it out, and stick to your guns/price. Even if you leave and wait for them to call you back (this has happened to me a lot), it is unlikely someone else will come along and buy if they are that much over market. Remind them that the used car market is flooded, because of all the 04 and 05 new purchase incentives, have brought in a boat load of trades. I heard this everywhere I went in Jan. and Feb. trying to trade my 03 truck, on an 05 car. Same thing applies now, they just don't want to mention it, you should.
Best of luck with the purchase !!

Well, your right on with your numbers. So don't let them make 5k off of you or I'll be pissed. I have exactly the same Stang your talking about. Don't pay more then 16k. If they don't like that offer, then walk. Good luck
edit: PS, welcome to the forums. Come on over to the V^ section and shoot the shizz with us V6 guys. [sm=smiley20.gif]

Welcome to the forums, and yeah stick to your price, there is no way I would pay 20k for a 03 V6, if they don't like what you offer them leave your phone # and walk, go to another lot and look i am sure that there has to be a lot of V6's out there on the used car market in CA. Good luck and stick you what you want to pay!!!!
