f-body guy looking for a stang
Hey everyone, Im an f-body guy that prefers f-bodys but loves stangs too! Im transferring schoolsand I dont want to take my WS6 so Im putting the WS6 away in storage for awhile and looking to pick up a stock '94-'95 GT or possibly a '96-'98 for a beater but preferably a 5.0 because Im more of a pushrod motor fan. I grew up loving them and one of my best friends has a nice cammed purple '95 that is a fun car to rip around with. Just trying to learn some more about them so I know what to look for and whether the modular 4.6 or 5.0 will suite me better. They both seem notorious for burning oil or atleast several people I have known have hadproblems with that so looking to learn more about that so I canprevent myself from getting a car that may burn oil.

Welcome!
I am newer than you. You can stop or really lessen the oil problem with the help of 20W-50 oil. My 95 Cobra with a brand new 515H.P. Edelbrock engine was using a quart every 1400 miles. I gradually went from the 10W-30 to the 20W-50 and now I am not having to add any oil at all between oil changes which I do every 4500 miles. I was warned that I would spin a bearing, but theway I look at it is if that was true it would havehappaned a long time ago. The engine runs strong as all get out with no problems.

Welcome to the forums. Your talkin about getting a car more than 10 years old so it's a real possibility of some valve seals letting oil into the cylinders on even the best kept cars. Just make sure you drive it before you buy it and you'll know if it smokes.
