immaculate 99' GT
Hello everyone, I'm new to this site, and a proud owner of a 99' torch red Mustang GT. I was looking for a mustang for awhile, it's hard to find a stick in the city. I was riding with my father to the Jeep dealership to get his Cherokke checked out. I'm walking through the car lot and I see the most amazing mustang I ever saw in my life! The car was incredible! A salesman saw me looking in awe so he goes to get the keys. He unlocks the doors and all I see is CUSTOM EVERYTHING! The salesman pointed out all the custom things. Sound system, gauges, seats, pedals, intake, exhaust, headers, pulleys, wheels, 13in slotted crossdrilled rotors, Brembo calipers, EVERYTHING! I got out discuraged because I knew a Stang of this caliber I would not be able to afford. I ask him retail and he says $10,800! I said wait this must be a V6 with a GT badge because I know this car can't be only $10,800. He pops the hood and sure enough after I stopped noticing all of the modifications it is a V8 GT! Still wondering how come it's price so cheaply I asked him to start the engine. Let's just say that Flowmaster mufflers and the custom headers were proof that the engine mods were for real. The salesman said that he sure it's 300+HP. I won't know exactly until I get it on the dyno, but I glady took it for a test drive and the amazement just kept growing. Whenever I get it dynoed, if reads more than 300 hp I won't be surprised. One of the other salesman was actually disappointed because he was going to by it in two days (HA,HA,). I didn't want a automatic but inside I knew that I would probably never find a mustang this good in Chicago again, especially at this price. So I took the automatic. Is there any thing I can do to keep my car competitive or will I always be at a disadvantage against 5 and 6 speed manuals? I will post pics as soon as I can get a digital cam.
P.S. It's kind of un-nerving when people see the car and ask me where do I work!

and you could add a shift kit, and a stall converter to help you "keep up" with 5/6-spd cars

Sweet find man. I can't wait to see the pics. Yeah mustangs are funner with the manual transmission, but who can turn down a V8 that cheap with all those mods. I bought my V6 for $10K with nearly 30K miles on it.

Welcome to the forums!!!!!! [sm=welcomesign.gif] Yeah defently get some pics up when you can, sounds like you got a good deal on your car!!! Congrats and enjoy it. Don't worry that it is a auto (mine is too) just get a good shift kit and stall convertor and wave to the 5/6 speed cars as they are busy shifting and you are walking past tme with one hand on the weel and the other showing them that they are #1 ....RONLMAO!!!!!!!! Enjoy your new car!
