Hello,
I'm new to the forums, but have been driving and racing Mustangs since 1988. I'm 44, married, and have a 3-yr-old son. I've owned five Mustangs over the years: a 1988 LX 5.0 (factory stock), 1988 Saleen (#88-0350), 1987 GT Convertible with a beautiful custom paint job, 1989 LX 5.0, and my current 1997 Cobra coupe. My Saleen was a fairly stout machine making 526 HP and running a best ever of 11.26@125. Some asshat stole it in 97 right after I bought my Cobra and chopped it to pieces. And it was such a pretty car. The GT Convertible had a Paxton, but I never took it to the track. The 89 LX had a Cartech turbo and made 451 HP. It ran a best ever of 11.52@121. My Cobra is the only Mustang I still own and it's pretty much stock with only an aluminum flywheel, shorty headers, a short throw shifter, and underdrive pulleys. It ran a best of 13.2@106 on the street radials when I last raced in 2002.
I've been bitten by the speed bug again and am building my Cobra to ease the pain. Since my favorite car was the turbo, I decided to put twins on the Cobra. I ordered the HPP 57mm twin turbo kit from HPP and am in the process of building the rest of the car to handle the steroid injection without going to pieces. I'm in Maryland, so maybe I'll run into some of you at a nearby dragstrip in the next few months.
