331 or 351
Ok so have a 88' gt 5.0 5speed and as a seinor project at my college we get to do an engine swap. My questions are being i would like toput a 331 in but i know it can get costly with components but i am wondering if it is a eaiser build and install. the other option is go to a351. i am wondering which makes for a more reliable car and how much work goes intoswapping a 351 in. i haveseen it before and am wonderingif the rear end trans and all that can handle the 351.my friend has a89 with a 331 in it and its justa bad *** ride but he started with a 2500 lower end preassembled. if i were to buy a kit and send the block out anddo all the installations would it be morebang for the buck or should i just go with a 351. if i do go with the 351 what block should i start with. or same with the 331 is there a differnce in blocks on the 3o2s or are they all the same. i would like 400+ hpbut a car that i am not constanly fixingi would rather spendmoney on upgrades than repairs. can anyone help??

The 331 will cost more, anddepending on who you talk to stokers can be unreliable. The 351 is a possibility but you need to check on the legal part as the 351 was not an option for the 88'.
The 331 will produce silly horsepower depending on how radical you build it. The 351 is capable of alot but is much heavier. Good look with the project, the only other advice to give you is to come up with a plan and stick to it, changes in plans cost alot of money.
