Newbie...
Hello all... I am a NEW Mustang owner... bought a 99' Mustang Convertible (35 year anniversary edition)last week... it was garage parked for almost 3 years. It kind of fell into my lap and it was a gr8 deal... it ran gr8 for most of the week however yesterday I experienced some sluggishness and surging. So, today I am going to do as much of a tune up as possible to see if that may help. I have already fallen for this car as it is just fun to drive and my kids absolutely love it. We had a warm weekend last weekend and was able to ride with the top down and this being my first convertible, it was a fun time! I have not had the best luck with cars over the last 5 years... had a 98' Explorer that died on me back in November 07'... it was a car I loved and had driven for over 7 years... I waited patiently juggling one vehicle (another Explorer, 04') and had this stang' become available. After almost 4 months with no personal wheels I will happily enjoy working on fixing this. The car cranks fine and was running gr8 until yesterday... so if anyone on here has any experience with these issues any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

RE: Newbie...
Welcome... I am pretty new to the forum but have had good experiences so far. I have had a '68 coupe for over seven months & haven't been able to drive it yet, but I know what is wrong with it... no engine. I can't help you much on yours, but my wife and I bought a 2003 Ford product that sat the better part of three years & did similar stuff. It even blew this monster smoke cloud out one day whenI goosed it pretty good. I think sitting may have confused the computer & despite changing all the fluids & filters it still misbehaves a little when I drive it. Maybe the computer conditions itself to the most common driving, or maybe I am nuts! Either wayyou should sniff arounda little in the forum & probably start a new post with your problem as the header. I did that about some brake questions I had & got a GOOD reply pretty quick. Enjoy your new pony!

RE: Newbie...
Hi, My previous car was '99 GT Vert. I had a performance chip installed in mine and had no trouble with throttle response. My car had 60,000 when I sold it. If yours has more mileage, could be due for a tune up.
Welcome to the forums. We're gonna need pictures!

RE: Newbie...
yeah its a 6er... not a GT but not a bad ride to break my Mustang virginity... but on the drive in to work this morning... it started acting up just like it was prior to the code read and repair. I also smell gas again, so there must be a fuel leak elsewhere as well. [:@] Frustrating...
