Default your thoughts

Hey whats up, i drive a 2003 ford zx2, and am thinking about trading it in for something stronger and better. I like the zx2 and i have made it different but i don't want to keep dealing with blowing trannies. if you look on any zx2 site u will hear of these problems. But anyways i started to look at used cars under 20k and i was thinking of trying to get a used gt or mach 1. What are the common problems? I used to be a mustang person but got out of it bc i didn't think they can handle but with the aftermarket it has i'm sure it could outhandle my car. I also didn't think they got that great of gas mileage but for the price of it and the power it comes with, it's faster and stronger than the jap cars i wanted.(2002 subaru wrx) thank you for your help.

Welcome to the forums!!!!! I would get the Mach 1, they are great cars, no major problems to worry about other that putting money into mods!!!! lol Other that that they are good strong cars and will last you a good long time as long as you take care of it (typical things). Hope that you find one soon!!! Till then read the forums and you will learn a lot about mustangs!!!

Hey there and welcome!

The ZX2s are nice. My friend has one actually. I thought about getting one but I decided I'd get my stang sooner than I thought.

Anyways, GTs rock, but Mach's are SO sexy. I'd take a mach over a GT anyday, but whatever floats your boat.

sorry for bringing an old tread back to life but anyways, i'm going to look for a mach 1 as much as i can but i can find one, weren't there only 10,000 made? But If i can't get one i've saw some 99 cobra's for sale but i dont' know if i can afford the insurance, does anyone know if it will be that big of a jump from a gt to a cobra on insurance. I sure would love to have that 4.6 dohc, and independent rear suspension. But if i can't i'll get a gt. I'll be saving up the next month or so for it so until then i'll be trying to learn everything i can again.(ex mustang owner) had a 70 fastback w/ rebuilt 302, and a 79 pace car, worked on them but never got to drive them cuz i bought them when i was 15. I love mustangs, thats all i was brought up on since i was a kid, my grandpa had a mustang farm, had 8 ponies in the driveway plus all the stangs that pulled up during holidays.
