hello, my name is kevin and i just bought my first stang, a 2007 gt. it came with the black wheels, hood scoop and pioneer touch screen/nav/dvd player. i now know why everyone loves the mustang....but i want to personalize/customize mine. i really love the roush look and today i just ordered the roush rear wing and quarter window louver kit. slowly but surely ill be buying the entire roush body kit and then starting on the engine and mods.well here is where i need your opinions..i love the racing stripes down the center of the car and will more than likely buy the roush stripes, but ive also fell in love with the roush 427 "hockey stick" stripe for the side of the car. now obviouly i dont own a 427 and wouldn't have that number on my car, but would it be ethical to just have that "hockey stick" type stripe. like i said i really love to make my stang my own and this stripe really sets the look apart. any advice or opinions are welcomed..ive just joined the world of the mustang and dont want to offend anyone out there. thank you

Howdy, welcome to MFs..

first off - the "hockey stripe" is indicative of a BOSS - roush steals it and tags it with 427R 428R, etc... there are makers of vinyls out there where you can get just the boss stripe with nothing written - or "mach 1" or "mustang" or "boss" or whatever written at the top - check e-bay.

Dude, welcome...next..go ahead and place the stripes...no big deal. Many folks will draw the line at badges, not stripes. You go ahead and slap snakes on your pony and you will be flamed for that one....body kit and stripes...no problem.

I'm not a fan of that stripe at all, but do what makes ya happy it is your car after all.

 

Ok, i was in the same boat as u were before i bought my Roush. If u really like the 427r/428r graphics go for it. It's ur car, u worked for it. So do whatever you think looks good. If I was in ur position i would dothe graphics thatu want, but without the 427 on it. Get something different on it.Perhaps Gt or something. I would also get a side scope. I like the one's that the Shelby have. That way the graphics look like they come out of the scoop, you know what i mean?It just makes it more personalized, in my opinion. And I would continue with the mods that u are looking forwardin getting, Hope iwashelpful in someway. Good Luck.
