most likely not legal and one way is to get a saw and cut it off. a better approach is taking it to a shop and i think they could make it nicer, but really, a catback is probably a better idea. </P>

may i suggest flowmaster if all you care about is sound and not much about performance</P><edited><editID>Jugador</editID><editDate>37913.7728819444</editDate></edited>

Hey bro, when you buy an H-pipe, it completely replaces the whole mid-pipe which is currently in yourcar, including the cats. You just unbolt the stock mid-pipe, pull it off, and bolt up the new H-pipe. All you need is wrenches and sockets and a little bit of your time. It's really a snap.</P>

If you want a really deep muscular-sounding exhaust, go with a MAC cat-back, 3" if you want something really loud and ballsy. MAC also makes a mid-pipe called the ProChamber, which when paired with the MAC cat-back is supposed to be among the loudest 4.6 Mustang exhaust setups around. Magnaflow I've heard is really good also.</P>

Good luck with your ride dude!</P>

get the flowmaster exhaust w/ a 40 or the 30 series flowmaster muffler, it will give you the powerful aggressive sound.

flowmasters are definately the best sounding muffler imo, but they should be called, as others have said, slowmaster!

IMO the sound of a MAC cat-back blows the blowmasters away. MAC flowpath mufflers make the 4.6 sound like a 351 engine. The tone is really deep and powerful. Blowmasters sound really cheap on a 4.6...plus everybody has blowmasters, so with a MAC setup, you get something different, and something a lot more noticeable. </P>

*EDIT* - Check out this sound clip of a MAC cat-back on a 4.6 Mustang. It sounds great if you have computer speakers with a sub. <IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0"></P>
