Yo, I just got a 99cobra convertable. I believe cherry red is the color. I've never been a big mustang fan. I'm more into imports but i needed a new car and an evolution or supra were a little out of my price range so I decided to get a cobra. </P>

Knowing nothing about stangs I need some info. Primarily on Launching, Trac control off? when to shift? Also I'm going to spend about 1500 on some nice looking wheels, 500 or so on lights(neons) and a grand on performance upgrades. What should I look at for performance thats less then a grand. Also Anyone here have any lighting recemendations? Such as where to place them, remember i have a convertable. Also any other info that would be usefull I would appreciate it. </P>

Oh and please dont get me wrong, I love the car so far. I think I'm having more fun in it than I would in an high end import anyways. Stangs Kick ***.</P>

</P>

Thanks for reading.</P>

for performance i might suggest a catback exhaust and maybe a cold air intake and that will cost around 500-550 for both. gearsmight be a possibility if you want to switch them to 4.10's cause i think those come with 3.55'smeaning 3.73's wont make much difference.if you do all that it should total around a thousand. oryou could screw the gears and do nitrous if you want. as for lights, you can stick em...wait...better not go there. </P>

$500 for a NO2 kit, $500 for cat-back and H-pipe...that should give you a nice reading on the butt-o-meter. <IMG src=smileys/smiley16.gif border="0"> </P>

As for the lights, sorry can't help ya there, the only lights I deal with are Sylvania, and they all go in my ceiling at home. <IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0"></P><edited><editID>USAMuscle</editID><editDate>37914.0557638889</editDate></edited>

Man please don't do it to a stang. Spend the money on power adders. That will get more ooohhhhsssss and aaahhhss when you mop the floor of a RICER, unless you want to be the RICER that gets mop'd. I don't think you do. Do you?</P>

Drop the dough on a nice long tube, x-pipe, cat back, and intake. Probably put another 20 to 30 hp to the ground. </P>

And if I am not mistaken, you have a Ford underrated car. Ford rated the cars at 305hp. If you throw it up on a dyno you will see hp #'s around 280. If you take into effect drivetrain loss of 15% at the fly will be at like 325hp. Free HP <IMG src=smileys/smiley1.gif border="0">!</P>

Trac control is for pansies. Turn it off. feather the clutch out around 3 grand. Little chirp and no bogging is what you want. Practice Practice Practice.</P>

Please man don't tarnish the mustang name. Lights are for slow mo imports.</P>

Plus you got all the lights you need already. You's got headlights and taillights, entry lights and dash lights and and cargo area lights. Save the dough for power adders.</P>

Hey guy, i don't know what to tell u besides like new exhaust headers even maybe, uhhh no2 if ya want i don't think i would go for that but come on like SilverGTV8 said don't tranish the mustang name neons are for ricers, who can't get performance mods and think the only way they can get people to look it to have a super gay sound fog horn like beep coming from there bolt on muffler. Also they have to get people to look at them by lights not performance. The only reason you would need new lights(Tails) is to give the ricers something to look at after u smoke em. Good Luck with your stang and welcome to the light side.

skip the lights, stick with the engine mods first.Then later you can get your lights. important things first.
