Default Gas Question

Alright boys and girls my dream of owning a Mustang came true last Friday. My new ride is a 2008 GT. I am going to need to get gas tonight and I do not know what grade (octane) to put into my car. I have heard of horror stories of not adding additives and putting in the cheapest gas that you find. I am wide open to suggestions. It is so awesome to be able to be on this forum. Thanks in advance for the help.

what motor ,what year, what tune ?
i never use off brand i like shell
if you use the cheapest brand name you are probably
also getting the freshestwhich tend to insure full octane

Hell, I do not know about the rest of the crew, but price at the pump drives the train for me, not brand. As fo octane, think the manual says either 86 or 87....not sure which one. Welcome and congrats.

put 87 in your car, unless you have a tune for it that requires different octane

Whatever the owners manual suggests is best, unless its tuned for a higher grade.

I have put the best 93 I can find and I have put the cheapest crap in it also. I don't see any difference at all. But then again, I dont have a brand new GT. There's got to be something about it in the owners manual. The previous owner of my car always put cheap gas in it so, I just continued. I've got a stock 05 V6.

Welcome to the forums. Put 87 in it unless you have the car tuned for a higher octane. You can put 91 or 93 octane in it but you will see little or no difference in performance and you're just waisting you money. Now, if you put a CAI on it with a 91 or 93 tune...much different story.
