Question from the new girl on the board...
Please don't flame me but what does the phrase "rice" mean? I have an idea it means adding useless junk to a car, but where does it come from andhow do you determine what is "rice" and what is not?
Thanks

RE: Question from the new girl on the board...
rice varies by person..
usually its a description of the drivers/owners attitude.. being all cocky with a crap car(or even a nice car) with un-needed or overdone visual effects. Usually nothing is done to the performance, theyre just making it look fast.
The term Rice, itself, was originally(or so ive heard) taken from the nickname 'rice burners' usually being like japanese cars or imports. something along those lines
I'd consider a car rice if it has a large spoiler on a FWD car, peel-n-stick hood and roof scoops, __-mart plastic spinners... huge fart cans/big mufflers and tips.. that kind of stuff
But it also can be considered rice by the driver.. some little punk kid thinking he has the hottest ride on the street, when it really could probably carry one more person before the weak engine gives out.
But there is a difference, between making a car more of a show type of car, improving tastefully on the cars body.. and then throwing fake fender vents on a car.. but, dont forget, stickers added to your car give at least +15hp, depending on size and location
