Hi I am a new guy & just bought a black 98 GT coupe. The brake pedal force required is prety high compared to most (all) cars I have driven. Is this normal? The last owner put new pads on all round and they are bedded in.

Also the accelerator pedal effort is high. Again is this normal?

I do not have the owners manual - what is the recommended gas octane?

Sheffield- It's a Mustang gt, so the brakes are gonna feel a little mushy and require more effort. (can you say, "brake upgrade"?) The throttle pedal, however, should not be that stiff. Your throttle cable may be sticking and may need a little lubrrication. Oh, and run supreme unleaded all the time.

bleed the brakes. check if there are any thing in the way under the dash and under the hood that is keeping the throttle cable from operating properly.
