Default Transmission problems

Hey guys i have a 99 cobra and I recently have some transmission problems. A couple days ago I did a burn out in first gear and ever since I did that I cant shift into first, third, or fith. But second, fourth, and reverse work just fine. Can some body tell me what is wrong with it and if it would be cheaper to have the tranny swapped or fixed at the dealership.

well its never cheaper to do anything with the dealership. sounds like u broke some teeth off first and now its not letting you go into gears withpieces of metalin them.but ima say DO NOT go to the dealership. they are gunna try to charge you out the ***. hit up a local performance shop and see what they might charge you. and if anything, just do it yourself. its pretty easy to do. and if u need guidance, just go to autozone and pick up one of those haynes books.

umm idk for sure about that. i thought those rings were only needed on automatics.either way, if that car is your daily driver u need to do something fast or ur gunna be spendin like 500 more dollars for a clutch to be put in.i think you should call a few junkyards and see about a T-5 tranny. idk if ur cobra is a 6 or not. but the 5 speed should bolt right up. and the gears are longer so its easier to conserv gas....thats ALWAYS good.
