Real MPG?? We are thinking about buying a '07 GT but want a REAL number rather than the posted/printed miles per gallon - city and hwy?? So, if anyone has a '05-'08 V8 ,please reply with how many miles/gallon or Km/L you are actually getting. This will not make or break our desire for a 'stang but we were just wondering - Thanks!!

I have a brand new (bought 7/26) GT/CS 5 speed with 3.55 gear with 989 miles. I am getting between 24 & 28 mpg. Admittedly, I am babying it so far, upshifting quickly, etc. Around town, I am getting 24 & on a few trips I've taken from home to Phoenix on I-10 (speed limit 75) this week, I got 27.6 on one & 28.1 on the other. Needless to say, I was surprised. I traded an '06 Ranger Sport 2wd w/3.0 V6 & auto with 25,000 miles and was lucky to get 20 mpg on it in the same situations. The GT lopes along at about 2100 rpm at 77 mph on the freeway w/cruise control on. I don't know if my experience is typical.
