New gal!

New gal!
I'm finally getting back into the 'stang scene after a bit of a hiatus. I'm fresh out of the military (USAF, jet engine specialist), and am finally free to get back to turning wrenches for fun. I'll admit, I'm no master mechanic...but I know more than your average person. My baby is a 92 5.0 LX hatchback, bone stock. It's never going to be a race car, but I'd love to add a bit more power than it's got right now. First on the list (after the air silencer and air filter), of course, are subframe connectors and strut tower braces, and perhaps a g-load brace as well. Then on to the brakes. After that, I can actually work on the engine. However, I'm getting ahead of myself. Right now I'm going to college, so money is in relativly short supply. However, I'm patient. My 'stang is not going anywhere. It's been in my family since the day it was new. I could no more get rid of it than I could give up any other loved one!

RE: New gal!
Welcome girl! Nice to see another mustang chick here who isn't afraid to get into her car!
I hear ya on the money supply- that's why I'm stuck with my 6 banger. Nonetheless, I'll move my way up the HP ladder soon enough.
Hope you enjoy the forums and find them useful!

Afraid? Of my car? Never!
There's no greater thrill in the world than driving your very own 'stang!
I'm certainly hoping I will. I know I'm going to need help/advice with a lot of the technical stuff. There's a huge difference in general maintenance mechanic work and the specialty work required for something like this...but I'm always eager to learn!
Thanks for the welcome!
