Saleen S281 SC, Good Deal?
Hey everyone,
I am a new member to this site and I currently have a 2006 Subaru STI (Please no flamming). But I have owned a ton of muscle cars in the past including a Mach1. But now I feel the need to go back to a muscle car, and have always dreamed of owning a Saleen. I love the looks, and the performance of the new one.
However, as I was looking for one to purchase I ran across a used one at my local dealer. It was a 2007 Saleen S281 SC with 1,500 miles for $42,000. I understand Ford hasn't been doing to well with sales and everything so I was going to ask for a deal under $40,000. Do you think I am crazy, or what are your guys opinons?
Thanks!

It'll be hard to get that low, but try it and maybe start there for negotiations... make sure you have plenty of reasons why you list it so low, and be prepared to walk away (don't worry, they'll call you back very soon lol)

you will never know how much they have in it. you're not there to make friends so insult him if you must id start at 29000 tell him all he's got is a fancy gt with poor mpg he may have a floor plan payment past due and 30000 in his till may save the dealership look at his inventory if its high he needs to sell cars if its low his credit may be on hold and he needs to sell cars good luck and remember if your job pays you 50.00 an hour theoreticay every 100.00 you save is 2 hours you can screw off at work and enjoy the new ride

And yes, I would definitely start at like 30k and work from there. With the economy the way it is, there is no way I would ever pay even close to what a car dealer is asking. I would low-ball the hell outta him man. All he can do is say no....and then call you at home tomorrow and beg you to make a deal. haha
