New "Senior" Mustang Owner
I'm 60 years old and just bought my first new Mustang today. My wife and I both fell in love with the Mustang back in 1965, while we were still in high school. We just couldn't justify spending the money while rasing a family til now. It's a Vista Blue Deluxe 09 conv. (45th anniversary "Sport" addition) with a V-6. Paid cash for it too. I almost felt as though I was 16 all over again. Any other seniors out there that just enjoy the looks and nostalgia of the Mustang as-is, without "mods"? I have nothing at all against all the youngsters souping up their Mustangs but, that's not really my cup of tea.
we'll just pop in a Beach Boys, Lovin Spoonful, or Bob Dylan CD and reminisce about the good ole Muscle Car days as we cruise the burbs around Chicago....in our new Mustang, finally.

From a neighbor to north, welcome!! I am just east of Lake Geneva... where you at in IL?
And I can totally relate as I went a different direction with my need for speed with a Harley for a few years... but as soon as I took my vert for a test drive, I had a never ending smile that brought back tons of memories from when I was like DW32 and still in my 20's with my other muscle cars.

Welcome to MF. Since I was at Ford HQ for the intro of the 64 1/2 Mustang Fastback I'm pretty senior myself. Only a few months earlier I had purchased a Corvair Monza so I couldn't justify getting a Mustang at that time. My first Mustang was a new 1969 candy apple red V8 fastback. But unlike you I do mod mine. Not too much so far, but it seems impossible for me to stop. I keep seeing things the car cannot do without. I'm craving a supercharger but that is a bit overboard for me right now. Hope to hear from you often on the forum.
