New cobra owner
Hey guys, just picked up an 01 cobra, ive always wanted a mustang but could never really afford one but ive recently recieved some money from a family member so i figured lets do it. I paid 11,500 its got 39,000 miles seems to be in great shape (did i get a good deal?). Here are some pics ill post a vid up in a little bit. the mods it has are:
Exhuast:UPR offroad x-pipe, magnaflow catback
Fuel:
03 cobra tank, Fore fuel hat, GT pumps, stock rails/lines
Suspension:
Front-UPR tubular k-member/A arms, coilovers(14-175 springs), MM c/c plates
Rear-stock 01 irs, 03 cobra springs cut 7/8 coil, billetflow irs brace, MM subframe connectors
Appearance:
Spoiler removed, holes filled and repainted decklid
Antenna delete
2003 Cobra rims
tires are 85% new

Heres a vid, the white spots on the fender around the cobra emblem are just dirt, the paint on this car is spotless (aside from a few bug impact marks on the lower part of the front bumper) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSOd0cFEbI8 (please watch the video in full screen and in HD) oh yea and i installed the oil catch can my self, i had it laying in the garage so i figured why not.

A few things that concern me is The intake manifold does not have a cobra emblem on it, when i asked the seller why that is he said the intake manifold developed a crack in it and had to be replaced, and 2nd the spark plug covers are black when on all other 01 cobras there silver, what could this mean? is there a vin number or something on the engine block that i can verify that this has the original motor? I already verified the block as a teksid by seeing squares and not diamonds under the intake mani, also when i replaced the belt tensioner i purchased one for a 01 cobra and that one didnt fit so i went back and replaced it with one for a 99 cobra since i figured all 99s have the teksid and thats the only possible reason the 01 tensioner wouldnt fit. It did infact use a tensioner from a 99 cobra. Does this mean the motor might be out of a 99 cobra, or do the few 01 cobras with teksid blocks still use the 99 cobra belt tensioner.
