Question Ready to buy my first Mustang

In a couple of months I'll be able to buy my first Mustang. I can't wait. I went for a test drive some days ago and I was in heaven.
Never had a sports car before. Married with kids, but now wifey gave me the OK and my 8 year old kid is told that in 7 years, this car will be his first car and at that moment I'll get me a GT.
I don't have a big budget and I can't get me a GT (wish I could). I live in South Florida and I'm considering the V6 ($21,395) ot the V6 Premium ($24,395). Now that the 2011 is out there, how low can the price go on these two? Could I get the Premium for the price of a standard V6? How far can I push?
I'd appreciate any input from members with more experience.
Thanks in advance.

If you got around a 21-24K budget man, you could buy a used 05-09 Gt or even a 03-04 Termi cobra easy. Then you'd be happy for sure But that's just me. I'd skip looking at a new v6.

I had a bad experience the last time I bought a used car ( Ford Explorer) when my kid was born. I bought it at Carmax and that car gave me any problem you can imagine. Bought it with about 20K (at least that was the reading), it seems it had more miles and abuse than that. I had to get rid of it when the transmission went bad and I lost about 4K.
Of course now I don't trust any used car, neither does wife.

Ugh that sounds terrible! That is the reason I never wanted a Ford... I fell in love with the Mustang though, and I have had zero problems.

What if you got a used GT with a really good warranty? There is no way I could live without that visceral V8 exhaust note!

I'm with the Dark side. New member just picked up a 06 GT premium. 5 speed. 9900 miles it has the 18 inch rim package, upgraded interior package, alarm. side airbags. Not a mark on it. Our 3rd GT. We also had a 88 and a 95. Love the car. Paid $16000, added a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty for $1100 through our Credit Union. The warranty is with Mercury, hopefully I won't need it but its peace of mind.

QFT

I just paid 15k for the same car but with 40k miles and 17's, he got an insane deal + that warranty is a bargain!
