New from Miami.
I had user name for this site sometime now, don't know why I got it in the first place, but here I am now. I just bought a 2001 GT Coupe, 5-speed! I love the car! I loved my previous car too! Too bad she's gone now, but she did save me.
Safety is the main reason I got her. Before I used to have a taurus that almost got me killed in a red light t-bone. I still remember the test drive, she was a handful back then. I took her from 16.5 in the 1/4 to 15.8 on stock NPI motor with no mechanical modifications. It had an experimental ignition, hard shift kit, and a police 132 mph limiter. I had big plans for her, including experimental fuel injection, triton 2 stage resonance intake, and 5-speed. With ignition she would out accelerate late model GT above 90 mph. Don't know if they were stick or auto. And of course usually she was the fastest car on the highway. Combination of speed and an aggressive ignition map got me spinning at 120, I over done with correcting and hit a guard rail rear first at around 80, went under it. I was out of it for a few, smoke puring through firewall got me moving, I had to get out through passenger side. Then I reset fuel switch, cut exhaust pipe off, and drove her home. That was the last ride.
Now I have a GT, I'm enjoying the car, getting used to 5-speed, and of course taking it easy, which is a hard thing to do with my right foot. Pictures coming soon.
