Default New Future GT Buyer

Hi! Brand new on this forum today...live just outside of Dallas.
Looking to buy a new GT soon, but waiting to see what kind of great deal might come along on a '10 before jumping in an '11. Just gave up my '06 Vette...good deal to son, so I'm in need of speed again after a couple months off!
My first car was a '67 Mustang in 1972. Bought a new '04 GT without knowing what I was getting! (I test drove regular Mustangs, so I just figured the GT was a better one!) Was I pleasantly surprised when I went to pick it up the next day to drive home! The Vette was the car of my dreams, and great to drive, but the GT was the car that just brought a smile to my face to get in it and take off! I'll have to go with an Automatic this time as that 5-speed wore out my hip before getting my automatic Vette!
I read what were interesting threads here until they degenerated into something less, comparing 2010 with 2011 GTs. I'm really struggling with the issue, and I'd really love some input. I did buy an '04, just before the '05 came out, and I survived that!! lol And, I'm usually not in favor of buying a first year model change...waited for year 2 of my Vette. But, from all I've read, the new GT will be quite the thing right off the bat!
Thanks.

I was in the same boat. Just lost my 03 sport trac(not the same as a vette) to my 16 year old daughter. I was going back and forth on what year to buy and new vs. used. It was going to be a Mustang period. I had a 67 cougar in collage. My wife and I have owned a 88 GT and a 95 GT. 13 year break (did I mention the daughter and a son) and I found this little gem. 06 GT with 9900 miles on it in showroom cond. for 16k. Love at first sight, a nod from my wife and been smiling the last 7 weeks. Either way you really cant go wrong. Just depends how much $ a 100 horses are worth to you. Or in my case alot of $. Just visited Dallas for the 1st time in DEC. Nice town.
