Default New guy but not sure which mustang to get?

Hey guys my names Nathen and I've wanted to get a mustang for quite some time now but I'm not sure which one I should get. The time has come for me to sell my STi and get some muscle in my life lol. So you guys tell me which one you would choose out of the following. I want basically the best platform for a future 10 second car.

2011 Mustang GT
2008 Mustang GT500
03-04 Cobra

Welcome to the forums, I'll leave the car choice to some guys with more knowledge than me.

You can't go wrong with either really especially going for 10 seconds but remember the 03-04 Cobra has an IRS which may hinder you at higher power levels...

Welcome to MF! ....I'd go 03/04 Cobra (save some $$$$'s up front) & build the rear if you're looking to drag race! ...The other 2 Pony's also have there limits! GL

FYI: Its all about the tires!

The '03-'04 Cobras are still getting around $23-27,000 depending on mileage/condition. Add the cost of modifications to get it into the 10s and you're exceeding the purchase price of the '11 GT, which I think is a much better platform. It'll cost less to get the '11 GT into the 10s.
I like the '08 GT500 overall though. It would be the most rare car of the 3, and commands the most bad-a$$ed-ness of the bunch.

Around here you can pick up a nice cobra with 45k on it for around $20,000.....

Totally agree with the second part though.

Personally, i'd go Cobra. You already have a forged bottom end & the looks just cannot be beat (& the '11s are sweet looking rides). Then again, i'd buy a Cobra just for the sound even if it was a mid 15 second ride lol.
