09 GT 4.6 with 5 spd. Looking to do some mods. Any body have an opinion regarding an X-pipe with no cats? Does it affect the warranty as the car has a 5yr/60,000 mile power train warranty. Any fines if caught without catylitic converters??

Looking for answers.

Hey Joe,

The catless x-pipe/or h-pipe (h-pipe is preferred for sound, x-pipe preferred for better flow but has a raspy tone) is gonna give you a little extra pep (similar to that gained from your UDPs) and a lot of extra sound. Florida has no inspection so essentially you can do what you want to your car, though there may be some type of sound regulation laws but I am unaware.

Anything you do to the car is going to look negatively to Ford. They will always find a reason to get out of doing repair work, so keep that in mind. Though by law they have to have proof that your aftermarket part caused the failed part to fail. Of course if you are ever worried about things like this you can always install the new part, but keep the old part just incase you have to swap it back to take a trip to the dealer.

If you have to do emission testing you won't pass, unless you know someone. I have the JBA O/R H-Pipe. I'm able to put my cats in and out. Great design.

Here's what it sounds like:

Would also like to note that I have changed my exhaust numerous times. O/R, Resonators, Muffler deletes and the combination there of... O/R Pipes, will make the car louder but a cat makes it sound better. This is of course my opinion, but if I were to do it all again (and eventually I will) it will be with LT Headers, high flow catted H-pipe, mid-mounted 40 series flowmaster and SLP or equivalent tips. Though that theory is flawed cause Flowmaster doesn't offer a dual-in/out original 40 series.
