Default First Car. Looking for help.

Hello, this is my first post here.

I am currently looking for a new car. I am interested in an 87-93 Mustang.
I can't decided what would be better for me between a 2.3 4 cyl and a 5.0 8 cyl (automatic).

My questions are:

Is the gas mileage a big difference between the two? I will be driving a lot, and though I'd prefer a 5.0, I would get a 2.3 for gas mileage reasons alone.

Is there anything else I should know?

Thanks.

welcome.. A little advice. If you're worried about MPG you might not want to buy a V-8...

Welcome, I own two 2002 Mustangs, a V8 and a 6Cyl. both get the same mileage at tops driving real calm 23.5 mpg. I don't know how a four cyl might vary.

For a 93 mustang its 19 city/26 highway for an automatic 2.3 4 cyl and its 15 city/19 highway for an automatic v8. But, if you get the v8, your going to be stepping on it quite a bit more, so your MPG are going to go down haha.

I don't know if that makes a huge difference to you, but I'd personally get the v8. More power, not that big of a difference in fuel econemy.

Oh and welcome to MF!
