Black 5.0

Black 5.0
Since I got my new 5.0, a 2013 with that sort of Shelby front nose look to it, I've been really surprised at how many people look at the car. I haven't had this much automotive attention in years.
I went to Griot's garage in my hometown and bought a car wash kit. It velcros into the trunk. I have assorted micro fibres in it, car wash soap, squeegy, tire dressing and two types of wax.
When the car is freshly washed and waxed, it looks AWESOME! I get comments.
But as many know, the black paint shows dirt fast. The rain up in the NW has been making much much more active! I keep waxing the car every sunny day!
(I've actually lost weight from this)
So I've found out, that when I get to the car wash place, that doing the wheels first, they are the 19" that came with the Brembo brake package, makes things easier.
Then I use my bucket and their sprayer. 2$ in the machine, fill up the bucket, rinse down the car and start washing with the mitt.
Then 2$ and rinse.
I squeegy MOST of the water off and use the remainder to mix with the spray wax and it shines amazingly.
When I have the benefit of a shady place like someone's driveway where there are NO pine needles coming down, I paste wax it. But you don't have to paste wax with this stuff that often. Maybe 3 times a summer.
Anyway, people have commented about my obsession with having a car wash kit in my trunk at any given time.
But that black paint looks SO nice when freshly washed/waxed!
OK, they're right, I'm obsessed.
But this is better than me sitting on the couch watching TV eating pork rinds!

Welcome to the obsessive car washers club. I'm the same way, gotta wash it as soon as it gets dirty. Lucky for me (unlucky for farmers) we haven't had rain in a while and I haven't had to wash it in like 3 weeks.
