New Member What's up!!??
What sup guys, I am new to the forum and so far it has been a helpful site. I drive a 2011 V6 automatic stang with 2.7 gears, a CAI, and aftermarket cat back exhaust. I am looking into changing the gear ratio from 2.7 to 3.7 and get a tune on it. Thinking of getting a bama tune (91 octane). However, I just wanted to know if this would void my warranty. I know that I could flash my ECU back into stock but I've heard that Ford could see if you have done so. On the fence right now to see if the mods I want on are worth it. Really appreciate your input. Thanks!!

Welcome to the MustangForums! To answer your warranty question, a Ford Dealership can tell if any 11+ Mustang's PCM has been changed before. They can't tell what the setting were in the past, only that it was changed from it's original settings at one time. If you had a drivetrain issue, you could potentially lose your warranty, however that depends on your local Ford dealership. We've found dealerships that don't mind minor bolt-on and tunes for Mustangs and promise to stand with the warranty, while others will void it. The best thing to do is talk to your local Ford Dealer Service Manager and ask them how they deal with aftermarket tunes.
That being said, I'm sure you won't have a problem with your drivetrain, if you haven't had one already. Our Bama custom tunes are VERY safe and these 3.7 Mustangs have been known to be very hardy! In fact, we've pushed our '11 3.7L v6 into the 11 seconds at the quarter mile track, with some boosted help. Check out some of our Project car videos. You'll be amazed what these engines can handle!
