Just bought a 2013 GT!
Hey guys,
Well to start off my name is Toney. I've actually been an import guy my whole life, so this world is all new to me. I like to think that I have been upgrading my car choices over the years. I've had an eclipse, 240sx, Supra turbo, and a Miata. Those are just my projects over the years. I mainly used my old Nissan Ser Spec V as my DD. Well I still have the Miata but decided to trade in my Spec for a 2013 GT Premium, with the 19" ford wheels, comfort and rear sensing/alarm packages. I know it's a HUGE leap, lol, but I have always wanted one since the 5.0 came out This car has as much HP as my supra with none of the reliability issues. I absolutely love it! So like I said before this is a big change of scenery for me and so far I like what I see. I just ask that you please bear with me if I ask a few basic questions.
Plans for the car? Umm not really sure yet. I will probably just drive it and enjoy it for the most part, I'm sure I will take it to the strip a few times, maybe autocross it once or twice....we shall see. So here are some pics of my new favorite girl, sorry in advance for the sorry iPhone pics.
The day I bought it. I'm standing in awe and looking concerned because I really only intended to test drive a GT that day, NOT purchase a $37k car lol. Is it just me or do you feel like going into a dealership when your serious about a car is almost like going to Walmart and trying to get away with only buying what you came there for, lol. Got a great deal on it between my trade, xplan price, and the $2k rebate they are offering though. Took almost 5hrs to get it done....but it was worth it.
I'm thinking tint and GT500 mufflers for my first mods. Any other suggestions?

Welcome to the forum and American muscle I hope you will be happy. That is a nice looking ride you have there. Be sure to check out the Carolinas Chapter section of the forum. We are in Fayetteville today holding a fundraiser at Fayetteville Motorsports Park and on 11/3 we are headed to Tail of the Dragon. Hopefully you can join us at some of our events.
You should listen to the Roush axlebacks before you go with the GT500's. Nice deep throaty sound. I would consider lowering springs as well. Check out the Hypermotive thread in the Carolinas section, one of our members has started a performance parts company.

Thanks. I'm sure it's probably too late for today's event, but I'll definitely check out the Carolina's chapter forum. I'd love to hang out with some more gearheads . Do you guys meet anywhere near Raleigh sometimes?
Honestly I would like to hear as many different exhausts as possible in person so I can get a better idea of what I'm getting myself in to. I've been watching a bunch of videos on you tube and I can tell its just not going to be the same. Lowering it is definitely in the cards as well. I just haven't geeked out on it enough yet to know which setup is right for me.
