Coming back to the Mustang
Hi all,
I'm planning on picking up a '13 or '14 mustang next year at some point. I currently have a 2011 F150 5.0 as my DD and a 2012 Yamaha R1 as my fun toy. I plan selling the R1 to pay for the stang as my insurance alone on the R1 is $155 a month! I had a 2005 GT 5speed in 2008 and since I sold it I've had regret, even the 170hp bike can't fulfill. I have a few questions I would appreciate guidance on
1. Realistically what should I be able to get a GT 6speed for OTD. I've done some research but hearing from actual people is always nice. My preferred options are premium trim, brembo pack and 401A. I'm also counting on the coming 2015 model to help me get a lower price on a '13/'14 next year.
2. I am leasing my F150 and am up for early termination next winter. Do I have to buy a car to take the early term or can I just give the truck back? I'd like to just give it back when my early termination is up and drive the mustang as a DD until the next winter rolls around.
3. Are you guys getting the advertised 26 MPG on the highway? This is by no means a big deal to me but I know sometimes a posted 26 in real world becomes a 22 or sometimes a 29. I'm not going to miss getting 20 on the highway with the truck...
Thanks for any advice,
Kyle

Has anyone got a lot knocked off MSRP on one that was custom ordered or transferred from another dealership?

Doing a transfer and getting a price break would be tough. I think you will have two problems, finding one with the package and the right color. Should it come down to color or brembo I would get a GT Premium in the color you want and give up the brembo option. You can always upgrade brakes later.

I'll give up the brembo package if I can get a good deal. Most of the GTs are premium and that's something I do want for sure so I should be ok there. I just think the brembo package is a pretty good deal for the wheels and brembos for $1600. No way I could do that with aftermarket.

That may be true, but you could come close if you "knew" someone who could cut you a deal. (I'm stomping my feet...hint hint) Or you may spend a little more and get a better product. I'm going to check on something.
