You're going to have to build the engine up a tad to run with a WRX. The power to weight ratio on the Mustang is not the same. Swapping the cold air intake and maybe even a new intake and cam would help a lot.

well im financially challenged at the moment 
wife only allows me to spend lil bits on the upgrades, Still waiting on the cai and tuner and gears.. seems like its been forever since I ordered them, but they will be here tomorrow. Next thing after these simple mods I am gonna do something with the exhaust to make it sound better. Thinking just gonna do some axlebacks like the flowmaster American thunder 60 series.. I like the way they sound.

Don't fear the gear!
I got 4.30s in my 3v and love em! I also have a 5 speed manual....
And in regards to the cai, generally a composite material cai will not absorb heat like an aluminum cai and will produce more hp/tq!
