Default Failed Emissions - 2010 Mustang GT ... "Computer Not Ready"

Hello,

I just purchased a 2010 Mustang GT from an out of state Chevrolet dealership in Kentucky. They don't do emissions there. I live in Georgia and have to get emissions in my county. The car was modified with an H-pipe exhaust and no catalytic converters. My emissions keeps failing with "OBD computer Not Ready" ... I'm not getting any errors on the car itself (No "Check Engine" light or anything at all) ... The oxygen sensors are not passing the emissions test. A Ford Specialist shop is telling me they'll retune my computer for $700 so that it will pass emissions from now on. My question is whether or not I could just buy a pair of rear oxygen sensors to pass emissions OR do I really need to pay the $700 to have the car retuned?

Jwog666, that's not true .... I've already gotten a guarantee to have Emissions pass just by retuning the car for $700 WITHOUT the cats .... And that is from a Ford Specialist.

if it was equipped with cats, (all cars since 1973 have been) then they need to be on the car to pass emissions. ill take $700 and blow smoke too. lol

Instead of cracking jokes, maybe you should hear what I'm saying ... I'm being GUARANTEED a passing emissions ON SITE or I don't have to pay the $700 after they retune it. So I'll tell you what ... I'll let you know how it goes after I have it retuned tomorrow ... Without the cats. Thanks for your helpful responses.

if they are saying that u can remove emissions equipment and pass the test, then they are commiting fraud and are breaking the law. grow a brain. its federally mandated that they have cats installed. i dont care what kind of cool aid they are giving you.

They'll get it to pass, just not legally.

Welcome to the forum by the way, hope it works out for you.
