Default help with 90 mustang

i am new to the 90 stang and i want to build a street racing car. i do not plan plan on using the stock engine but i want to build something that you would see in the early fast and furious movies. i want to be able to take corners fast and 0 to 60 really quickly. i know that i will have to have a rear diff. that is a lower gear ratio and i also know that i have to have the right transmission and drive shaft.

i plan on putting a inline 6 in for the engine.

im new to all of this and don't know much so i decided to post on here to tap the knowledge of some more educated minds.

Welcome to the forum, glad to have you.......

But........Ummm........ A straight 6 for a power plant ??? Could you explain your reasoning behind this ?

Is there something wrong with the 5.0 that's in there now ?

Yeah I agree with the above post not sure an inline 6 is best for your goals. They just aren't that well supported in the aftermarket. I've got an 84 f150 with the straight six and it's hard enough finding standard parts let alone performance parts. 302s are literally a dime a dozen and thousands of shops have parts for them. If unique is what you want maybe look into a turbo 4 like the SVO had it has more support but still won't be like a 5.0. I think the inline six would leave you disappointed in the power department.

You'll want to keep the engine that's in the car then. As long as it's in good running shape.

Check out the Tech section, in the 79-95 sub-forum. Search that for any info on mods or Technical advice and you'll be reading for days on how to wake your pony up.

Good luck, and don't be shy on asking questions in there. Start a new thread and we'll be glad to help you out.
