Default 2005 v6 Premium won't accelerate

Hello I have 2005 Premium w/o upgrades....My car has been a great car, until recently. I had to have the catalytic converters, muffler and o2 sensors replaced. The only difference in the replacement was the muffler was changed to a Magnaflow to improve sound. I got it back and drove it for a week and kept getting an off and on check charging system message.

My immediate thought was my battery is three years old exactly maybe I need to have it checked. When I open the hood I see a lot of corrosion around the negative terminal, removing the connection from the terminal I also see why it has corrosion the negative terminal is very loose.

I got a new battery and hooked it up....not the first time I've replaced my cars battery, I connected the positive first, then the negative. The negative side sparked a lot when connected.

I start my car, it starts but I now get a fail safe engine mode, check charging system and can't accelerate.

I had codes checked and I'm getting P0122 Throttle/Pedal position sensor switch a circuit low, P0323 Ignition/Distribution Engine speed input circuit intermittent.

Any advice please, no idea what to do..dealership?

Have you tested the alternator? That can cause some issues.

I would unhook the battery and charge it then hook it back up.

Sometimes new batteries aren't fully charged when you buy them.

Good luck.

Thank you, but would that cause failsafe engine mode message and the car not to accelerate?
