Default 2005 cd player/radio removing/replacement

Have a 2005 mustang with a single disc player that I'd like to change out for a 6 stack unit like I had in an 03 GT. Found a few, but I'm not sure of a correct fit. By the way, how do I remove the bezel/frame from around the radio.

You'll have to have it programmed for the illumination to work properly when changing factory to factory head units. To take it out the side trim panels that run up alang the radio from the carpet up are clipped in. just pull them straight back and then you can access to the screwa that hold in the radio.

The shaker 500 is a 6-disc player. Why change to a different unit? If you want to get a better head unit I can understand that, I went with a Z1. But I would not worry about finding a 6 disc changer in the HU, I would stick with a Shaker 500 for that feature. You can upgrade for about 150-170 and it will fit perfectly

It does not need reprogrammed, you just have to feed a wire from the headlight switch the the illumination line on the head unit.

I work at a dealer so it was easy for me to reprogram when I put in the 6 then it was to add a wire.
