Default '99 Mustang fuel consumption issue

Guys, looking for advice here! I have a 1999 mustang that I recently bought. Here is the problem I have with it. I fill it up full tank and by the time I get to just about below the half tank mark (around there), the car does not run anymore. It is as if the entire fuel got consumed. Clearly, the second half of the gas that's remaining in the car is not being utilized. Confirmed this by filling fuel back up to full, and it gets full when I put in about 7 gallons. So clearly there is half a tank left but not being used. Any thoughts on why this is happening and how I can fix it? Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

I'm not familiar with the newer Mustangs but if you start a new thread in the appropriate Tech section, the section specific to your year Mustang, they'll know what to check for.

But it does sound like you'll have to drop your tank and pull the pump assembly as it sounds like the pick up tube came off. Just a guess....
