1967 Fastback,Interesting Find, need some help
OK New to the forum and a mustang fan who is back after years of absence to restoring my favorite car again.
I recently acquired a"barn Find" that had been sitting apart for over 28 years.
A 1967 Fastback 4 speed GT. The old owner claimed it had a Police Interceptor motor. It definitely is a huge Big block. It barely squeezes into the engine bay. He also said the dealer installed the motor. As I have been starting to go through the car, the block is a C4AE6090G which I believe is a 427 motor not a 428 PI, and the trans code is defiantly for a 427 4 speed and clutch. It has shell type solid lifters , long push rods. I have not gone into the bottom of the engine. It definitely looks like a side oiler.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how else I can ID this engine?
Much appreciated.

Does it have cross bolt mains and an oil galley running along the drivers side of the block? What are the head casting numbers? Biggest engine available in the Mustang was the 390 I believe but Shelby's had 428's.
