Default coyote fox swap.

I've owned several fox chassis Mustangs through the years. But I have a new project I'm getting ready to start on and may need some advice along the way. I have a 1982 Mercury Cougar II wagon (twin to the Fairmont wagon) I'm going to street rod. I know this is a Mustang forum, but since it is fox chassis and the lack of Mercury Cougar II forums, the info here will be very valuable. I plan to coyote swap it. I already bought a donor car, a 2001 Mustang GT which I will use the rear axle, front k-member, brake system and transmission. I'm looking to see which Coyote motor to use that won't cost a fortune and now, in the planning stage I'm hung up on the fuel system. Since the wagon had a mechanical pump I would need to convert the sender to an EFI system. I cant find one for a pre 1982 Mustang and they say the tank is different and cant be swapped either.

CJ Pony tech says no. The spare tire hump is different under the car pre 82 to post 82 fox bodies, so I wouldn't be able to easily swap the tanks.

Couldn't you just mount a fuel cell in the back with an electric pump? Would kind of suck since it's a wagon though, or potentially graft the lower trunk area from a fox onto yours?
