I have a 2011 Mustang premium coupe V6. Factory tire size is 215/65R/17. Currently I'm running 235/50R/18. My speedometer is off and it's running my odometer meter up in miles. I researched the tire sizes and found that 255/50R/18's are the closest in size. Can I run them or will they rub?
I ran a staggered configuration on my GT of stock 235/50/r18 on the front and 255/45r18 in the rear. Rears were fine and would have plenty of clearance for a taller 255/50r18. No idea on the front.
The important thing is the offset on the rims. Rubbing usually occurs on the front strut or wheel well because the offset is incorrect for the width of the tire. Are you using factory mustang wheels or aftermarket?
