Epping NH
Hey guys, I didn't realize so many of you actually lived near me in lovley MA. I posted this in the street section but wasn't happy with the replies. I plan on going to Epping next nice day on a street night to run my stock 02GT. I just need some real answers as what to do about my safty equpment. First is the battery tie down, my batter has nothing holding it down. It sits in a box though and I will say that thing ain't going anywere but there is still nothign on top of it. I bought a tie down and two threeded hooks to slap something together but there is noplace on one side of the battery for anything. What do you guys have for a setup? Also my 02 has a radiator overflow stock, is this ok to run with? What do you guy use for helmets, do they have to be full face motorcycle helmets or what? I plan on going the 21st if it is nice, and going oct 1. on mustang shootout hope to meet a bunch of you and posibly get smoked!
if you haven't touched the battery its fine cuz i have never had to do anything to mine although i have the factory one they put in the car
also if its stock don't worry about a helmet cuz you WILL NOT hit 13's. no matter what anyone says you won't.
where in mass are you from as i am as well. i am prolly going up so i might see you there

I am from dedham, MA. It is right next to west roxbury (a boston suburb). I am right off Rt. 95/128. I better hit those damn 13s, but even if I dont I want to grab a helmet anyway.
For the battery, you will need some kind of a tie down. I've seen guys get turned away for not having one (right OB?
)
Ford sometimes ties there batteries down using a clamp thingie on the bottom of the battery. Does yours have this?
I have seen guys using bungee cords. Heck, the tech guy gave somebody one last week and let him through...
For the helmet, if you run quicker than 14's, you need a Snell 90 or newer rating on your helmet. Sorry, your football helmet ain't gonna cut it...
Your stock radiator overflow is ok.
Hope to see you there as well. Definately going to be there on the 1st

I dont' know about this battery thing, anyone with an 02 know anything? I do know that one side of my battery is against the car so much so that I couldn't get anything down the side of it if I wanted to.
The tech guy gave me a bungie cord to get threw and I was happy!!
But ya you do need a overflow battery and make sure you have pants on cause shorts are a no no.A helmet is only for 13 second cars so if your stock dont worry about that either.Most important is dont forget your license cause people do it all the time and they will not let you race.I'll probably see you up there i should be up in the next couple street nights
