Default Audio guys...I need help.

Hey guys,
I bought a base 2011 GT, and I want to upgrade the stereo. I would like to stay stock. Is it possible to replace the base stereo with a Shaker system?

And the second part, is there a aftermarket product that is still going to look stock, give me some more power, but not cost an arm and a leg.

I have always been about the performance end of these cars, and never given much thought to the interior....so all input is welcome.

Thanks.

When you say "stereo" do you mean Head-unit or speakers, or both? Regardless, yes you can upgrade the components that make up the system and still utilize the shaker sub. I have a Kenwood DNX6160 Head-unit that is a great improvement but doesn't look stock. It's a 7" LCD touch-screen. I love it personally. If you're looking for speakers (really any sound upgrade) I suggest going to CrutchField's website and seeing what would be compatible with your model Mustang.

For the Shaker speakers, you are on your own, but I would think easily obtainable from Ebay...

As for the HU, you can hook it up to use the stock system and not its internal 50x4 amp. I do have all the parts required for that. I got imaptient waiting on Amazon and just went to Best Buy and spent more money for having them now. Havent even opened em.. hell, I didnt even open the Amazon box either.. If you are DIY and need help, let me know. you are close enough that I could get you going in about an hour on the HU.. that would include soldering and whatnot.. not a fan of splits and capping... as for the speakers, love to help.. would be fun but.. id be there learning with you. Shaker 500 was in my car when I bought it.

OK, sorry.. i just keep adding stuff... These days, IMO, the best way to look stock and and not be stock is with a 7" screen. Most cars come with the option from factory to have navigation and backup cameras etc.. so seeing a screen in the DDIN is normal. That's what I did. Stuck a Pioneer bluetooth dvd player in there. Now I even got hands free calling that pairs to my Android. Just ran the wire under the dash, up the A pillar and across the top thing there. But i do have the shaker 500 HU if u need that as well. Ill never use it.

X,
Would love to take it off your hands, but I am pretty sure that your 2007 will not work in my 2011...I may be wrong, but it looks like it is a different shape.

I can't find anything that doesnt look like new. Hell it even smells new. 16k miles.. he radio has probably been touched like 5 times and used for 15 minutes..lol
