Hi gang! I've got no idea where else to post this but wanted to share a road trip my wife & I just finished in my Mustang. This was my first road trip period since buying it a couple months back, and the first time my wife & I have been able to do a vacation without the kids (youngest is now 24. she can take care of herself. lol).
We love touring historical places. We settled on a few and took off. We drove from Columbus, OH to Asheville, NC to tour the Biltmore Estate, then to Savannah, GA to do sightseeing, then to Ocala, FL.
While I was in Ocala my clutch pedal went kaput, and I wound up having to replace the clutch slave cylinder and the master cylinder. The pedals are still a bit spongey so I'll have to look into that. On the plus side, did get to drive Dad's Shelby and his new daily (2000 F150 Lightning). Totally worth it. LOL
On the way home, we had originally planned on visiting Charleston, SC but had to drop that leg due to the unexpected extra day spent in Ocala getting the car fixed. So we skipped and drove back to NC to visit our nephew in Mooresville, then the last leg home to Columbus. What a blast! What a great road trip car!
My girlfriend and I drove Route 66 last year. The plan was to do it in a mustang. We ended up taking her Explorer ST.
We are doing the Pacific coast highway this summer. Going to rent a convertible for that one.
that’s a bad place to lose a clutch. Lol.
Well if there’s a place to lose it, I’m glad it was near someone that had a good shop to go to in the area. Very thankful that it broke at my dad’s place and not the middle of nowhere!
