Another vote for Amsoil here, I use it in EVERYTHING I own....cars, truck, sleds, motorcycle.....even my garden tractor. I've used it since the mid-seventies, probably before most on this board had a drivers liscense !
When I joined up here I was a big M1 fan, but kept reading about this Amsoil ..
so I bought some
wont use anything else ,
ever
Royal Purple, got it in the motor, and in the diff. Stuff is great. I swear after swapping diff fluid the car runs so much smoother. Next up will be the transmission.
How come no-one mentioned the "German" Castrol 0W-30 I have been using forever?
Because the German Castrol that everyone was raving about has been reformulated. In 2002-2005 it was group IV PAO base stocks, and one hell of a robust formulation. Now it's a group III hydrocracked petroleum base stock, and not what it once was. I missed the days of "Green" Castrol 0W-30, as it was MY oil of choice. When it changed to "Gold" in 2006, I walked away from it.
