Ok, I'm looking for someone who is a member and can steer me in the right direction for buying a helmet. I plan on running a lot more this year in the solo auto x events and I hate using the loaner helmets. I've tried to look up requirements and I'm just getting confused. I'm looking at a few new hjc helmets on jegs and summit racing but want to make sure I'm going to buy the right thing. The ones I'm looking at are snell m2010 and dot approved. Now I take that as its a motorcycle helmet.

I only want to spend around $150 as I'm just running for fun and don't do it all the time.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I haven't ran any autox myself but i do have a friend that does. I called him and he said that any full face helmet is fine. Also a motorcycle helmet has better visibility than an auto helmet. He uses the HJC CL-16, btw.
