Yes I like a Full face motorcycle helmet and at my track for a car you need a minimum of a Snell 95 safety rating. I would purchase one with a higher rating(Snell 2000) so it need not be replaced anytime soon if there happens to be a rule change at the track requiring a better helmet.

Are you talking 1/8th mile? In the 1/4 anything under 14.00 must have a helmet, but wear one anyways, it's a good idea and beleive it or not I always have a better R/T with a helmet on, it's helps drown out the noise and I can concentrate better.
