RE: Racing Helmets
I have to wear a helmet for racing... (karting, but were pushin 65 in a low hp class) Im looking for a new helmet for this season. I have had 2 helmets so far... a Bell and a Zamp FS1... the bell was from like 99 so it was fairly old by racing standards, so I spend 99$ on an m2000 zamp helmet... its kind of heavy but I dont mind that much. Smaller guys probably would thoguh. The bell was much lighter. the lower end HJC helmets are pretty heavy as well. When you start getting into the 3-4-500+ range, your looking at featherlight helmets. Im talking about simpsons, sparcos, impact, arai. I know a guy who has a sparco WTT which he paid about 800 for. Its amazingly light, helet me take it out for a session and I forgot I even had one on.
