my 10 cents here are because i came accross this a second agod and i am completely new n have what? 4 posts at most?look, the way i see it is this. i dont have a mustang. ive driven one once. and can honestly say it wasnt my thing. i purely signed onto this website to see a few items i have laying around. that i will never need. and quite frankly it would do better on someones car than in my drawr. im here to sell my items and get the heck out. i truely believe that a fourum such as this and many others are greatplaces to find those who love what you love. hence my membership at vwroc.com. and on the topic of another comment to this thread. i also dont have pictures up of the items im selling. why? because putting up that many pictures is a royal pain in the rear but i will post up or even send them a pic of what theyre interested in). i dont even have a set price on any of the items either. why? because you the buyer shall set your price. i can throw em away. but its a waste. even if someone said ill give u 10 bucks fo the item (they pay shipping ofcorse.) id be happy theyd be happy and my tearm Will will be over. and all this minimum post thing would just hurt me and those who may want or need what i have.

This is the EXACT reason everyone is Bitchin to get a minimum post count up. Forum member sell things for FREE. That's all your looking to do. This website isn't Craigslist to post stuff for free for members that join just for that. There's plenty other places to sell these like Ebay as well. Why go through the trouble of joining a forums for these emblems???? Wouldn't it be easier to post them up where you already have an account and show pictures? You say it's pain to post up pics, but yet you actually spent the time to join a forum to sell the items??? Doesn't sound logical!

I voted 50, even though I don't have that many. It's not that hard to get your posts up and get a feeling of belonging here. I have almost 50 I think, and I really haven't been any help. Most of my posts have been questions so I can learn, not teach. Either way, I wouldn't try selling anything till I had been here awhile.

I just read this. I don't have 50 posts but I need to sell my fuel pump I have over 200 posts on moddedmustangs.com and 400+ on ca-mustangs.com. I just don't frequent this site as much as others.

Why not post it up on the other sites then? Just an idea!

Jasper you know how I feel, I mean ther has been atleast 20 posts by nebies with less than 5 posts within the past 3 days. They are all like Madhatter who admits his guilt.
It's members like me who have several hundred or thousand posts who keep this site together. We support our sponsors and buy from them regularly. These newbies are just using the "free" selling that this site offers to dedicated members.
A fedback in our profile would be nice as well. i just sold wheels for a G-note and packed them up super tight ans shipped them out as promised. It would be nice to have others see how I sell and the quality of the products. Just my .02

I come down on the side of less rather than more posts. Just like copy protection the those who understand the technology behind it can easily beat the system. I'd like to see a few other solutions explored and I've seen a few good ones mentioned.
I think it is wrong to consider someone who just wants to sell one thing and leave a bad thing in and of itself. A strong classifieds is a huge plus in driving traffic to a site, especially if there are deals to be had, IMHO the more the merrier. The issue as we all know is keeping out the rip off artists.
I like the idea of adding a ranking of some sort. Maybe if a member has a history on other sites then that could be a plus toward your ranking. A members ebay or Amazon ranking could possibly be used or at least linked to, that would save the hassle of having to set up a sophisticated local ranking system.
The key to me is in attracting quality people to join this site. Lots of people join multiple sites but will stick around the those with the best attmosphere. You don't want to create a seemingly snoobish or hostile environment that will turn off people that don't understand the reason beyond the rules.
Just my 2 cents.

Most rip off artists are newbies!!! I have mentioned my ebay name before, but what'ss to say I didn't use someone elses ebay name??? (I have my car pic in my ebay profile, so it's easily identified)
I don't think setting up a ranking system by using another companies ranking system is fair and frankly, I think it fringes upon what you stated up top about copyright infringement!
There's nothing wrong with a newbie to join the forums and BUY from our veteran members. That keeps traffic flowing and scammers outta here.
