anyone ever done it??? i'm thinking about installing mine (vortech) and then just taking it to a shop and getting it tuned. Are there any special tools i would need for this or could i do it with the basics. and how hord is it get to the fuel pump?

 

I havent never done it but it says with basic tools just have somone good to tune it for ya,my dad and i and my bro. and i have changed 3 or 4 fuel pumps so i basicly know what to do which one in-tank or front fuel pump?

Its fairly easy sept for putting it back on,make sure you have 2 people and a jack that last straps not gunna go on so easyly without some musle lol just take the tank out and unscrew the thing on top and take it out its a long thing that hangs make sure you get most of the gas out of the tank first and replace with the new one make sure it has the filter on the bottom and screw it back in and put the tank back up and hook the lines up with it,the fuel filter is right beside it,it will only take 5min. to change that and put it back on and put it up there with sombody else holding it and put the straps back on it then your done put the gas back in and your all set with the in-tank fuel pump.

PS: It might be slightly different than my 87' fuel pump so expect somthing a little different.

 

its very easy to install a vortech. simply put, all you do is take off your smog pump and a/c. then take off the bracket that held them on. bolt on the new bracket that comes with your kit. then the smog pump and alt get bolted to that. then the sc monting bracket goes on and then to that goes the sc. the hardest part is knocking a hole in your oil pan.
the fuel pump is easy as well, even easier if the tank is near empty.
