need to drop time in 1/4s
I have a 302 and i have rebuilt and am currently running a carberater. i changing the rear end form a 3.00 gear to a 3.70 possy but i need to drop more time due to a new motor my bro is puting in his car. he cant win
The easiest solution is a N2O plate system from someone like NX or N.O.S. When you rebuilt the motor, what type of parts were used? Forged slugs? 4340 cranks? What cam did you put in...lift, duration, LSA? What kind of heads? Is this a 9 or 8 inch rear end? What kind of transmission? N2O can be hard on parts if you are not properly set up.

^What he said. Also, look into Vortech's blower for carbs, I believe they've got one for the 302. It's got a pressurized box that fits around the carb. Pretty slick I thought (although I'm a major fan of EFI).
Paxton makes a really nice fitting unit for the classic Mustangs...the Novi 1200 http://www.paxtonauto.com/catalog/sy...t&Part=1001839 and you get a 30-75 % HP gain. Keep in mind that you do have to have a good base to start with. Lots of good parts. An old friend of mine, Jay Bittle, who owns JBA Racing in So. California also built a very interesting combination using a 1250 Dominator and a Novi on a 302. 911 HP from a 302. Article here http://www.jbaracing.com/assets/articles/sf700.pdf He qualified for his 7.50 NHRA license with this motor in his Fox body down in Phoenix a couple of years ago. (took him like 12 passes...way too much HP, car got really squirly, but fun to watch)
